Health and Wellness Coach & Yoga Teacher

Hello and Welcome, I’m Aoife, mom of one, daughter, sister, friend, employee... the list goes on! Like you, I wear many hats. But what I really want to share with you is my journey and how lead me to where I am today. 

In 2014, I was working as Senior Business Development Manager in an advertising agency living overseas. To look at my life on the outside, you would think my life looked pretty good. But on the inside, I felt like I had holes in my sails. I was burnout, anxious, and did not know where I was going with myself or how to deal with anxiety and stress. My coping mechanisms were to binge drink, people please, eat the wrong foods, yo yo diet, buy the latest bag or in "In" product, none of which made me happy. I knew something had to change. 

In 2015, things slowly began to change for me, I attended my very first yoga class when on holidays in Bali (I know… how Eat, Pray, Love of me!). I showed up with no expectations, no idea what I was doing but with the hope that it might be something that could help me feel better. After the class, I made the commitment to continue attending yoga when I got home. I spent the first few classes asking myself, ‘Why can’t you touch your toes? Why didn’t you do this sooner?’ But after a while, a shift began to happen where my stress began to become more manageable, I was able to breathe properly and the rest was just a bonus. But what the most amazing thing is, I learned, was how to look after myself, from the inside out. In 2016, I moved to Australia and that is where my studies took place. I let go of the things that were no longer serving me, like alcohol, which I am alcohol-free for almost 7 years now and, with any money I earned at the time, I pumped it right back into my training. I became a qualified Yoga teacher in 2018 and a Health and Wellness Coach in 2019. I can now apply what I have learned to all areas of my life. I still work in the corporate world, delivering marketing workshops and training; it’s just that nowadays, I have a better understanding of how to put my health and wellness first. I am excited to support others, I know what it feels like to prioritise the wrong things in life.
